The only value documented is the position resolution: which is 0.4mm on 2F-85 for example.
"For example, the 2F-85 position resolution is 0.4 mm means 0.4 mm is the range if we offset of 1 out of the 255 possible positions on new grippers" ( 85mm/256 positions = around 0.4mm)
For repeatability, it used to be part of the typical advertisement. I think it is less true now.
Here is why:
- Mechanical parts can wear.
- Gripping with force needs some travel (around 5 mm).
- Going somewhere is for fingertips clearance, picking with it will not use force-sensing feedback.
As picking is suggested to be done with Open or Close and some travel is required to reach a reliable force, repeatability of 0.4mm is way lower than the 5 mm of travel. The interest of repeatability became less important.
This is why we do not specify it in Gripper manual.
Remember, 0.4 mm is the range between 2 pulse count of position feedback. It can be interpreted as +0.2, -0.2 mm without a clear transition point.
This is only true at the same speed and force setting. 0.4 mm is from 85 mm/255 possible feedback values.
Also remember to calibrate the gripper with real ruler measurement to be accurate. The gripper cannot be considered as a caliper too, feedback is for rough validation but is not a measurement system.
